Apple tells workers it’s time to come back to the office

Apple has become the latest company to roll out an official hybrid working model, telling employees they need to be on-site at least three days a week. Starting Sept. 5, the company’s corporate employees are expected to be in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Individual teams can select a third in-office day.

Apple has long put a premium on in-person meetings and demos; the company delayed plans to roll out a hybrid work model earlier this year, citing rising COVID numbers.

The tech giant has laid off about 100 contract-based recruiters over the past week, Bloomberg reports, citing anonymous sources. The cuts at Apple are part of a wider plan to curtail hiring and spending.
