Apple will stalk Android users

Apple has released Tracker Detect, a new app designed to help Android users identify nearby wireless tracking sensors. Called AirTags, these devices are meant to help users locate missing items, although privacy experts have long raised concerns AirTags could be used to stalk people.

While iPhones are programmed to detect unexpected nearby AirTags and send alerts, Android users have been left in the dark. A discrepancy Tracker Detect aims to remedy this by scanning for nearby AirTags and notifying users through visual and audio cues.
