Elon Musk’s newest adversary appears to be Apple, “set[ting] the stage for a potentially bruising battle between the world’s richest man and the world’s most valuable company,” says The Wall Street Journal. The billionaire CEO, who purchased Twitter a month ago, claims Apple threatened to remove the social network from its App Store, which Musk says amounts to censorship and would force him to create his own “alternative phone.” In a series of tweets, Musk also complained that Apple had “mostly stopped advertising” on Twitter.
A couple of facts:
Musk isn’t the only one upset with Apple — many companies have complained of the App Store’s high fees, leading the Department of Justice to investigate its policies.
Apple’s App Store lead Phil Schiller deleted his Twitter account shortly after Musk acquired the social media platform.
