Google stopped hiring

Google CEO Sundar Pichai is warning of a hiring slowdown at the tech giant. An internal memo to employees obtained by The Verge says Google will prioritize engineering and other critical technical roles over other hires through 2023.

Citing the shaky economy, Pichai says employees must be “more entrepreneurial, working with greater urgency, sharper focus, and more hunger.” The news is the latest sign of uncertainty among notable tech companies: Meta, for instance, recently announced a hiring slowdown, while Twitter laid off a third of its recruiters.
