iOS developers earned US$60 billion in 2021

Apple App Store developers have raked in more than US$260 billion since its launch in 2008, according to the company — including US$60 billion in the last year alone. While those are serious numbers, relations between the tech giant and App developers aren’t all roses.

Many continue to publicly bristle at the terms of their agreement, in which Apple takes 30% of all transactions from successful and big companies. At the same time, the small business pays only 15%. Fortnite-maker Epic Games remains locked in a legal dispute with Apple over this very issue.
